This project is aimed at creating awareness on Prevention of Violent Extremism and the need for early warning in Fulbe communities. The project will foster social cohesion among communities through cultural exchange activities to address marginalisation and radicalisation issues.

Prevention of Violent Extremism and Peacebuilding

The Sahel region of West Africa is currently at the epicentre of violent extremism and terrorism (VET). With countries including Burkina Faso, Ivory coast, Nigeria, Niger and Mali witnessing direct attacks. Ghana has managed so far  to prevent attacks despite its vulnerabilities. This raises questions about Ghana's resilience to VET despite being considered a stable country. 

The vulnerabilities in the country, especially in the northern regions, are immense, ranging from socioeconomic factors; unemployment, marginalisation, radicalization and the extreme porosity of our borders. 

Smart Learning Hubs

Students and young people in rural communities in Northern Ghana face significant challenges in accessing quality education and digital skills which is non-existent in most communities. There is the need to initiate digital literacy students and young people especially in communities that its non-existent.

Education and Artificial Intelligence

The world is rapidly evolving, and education must adapt to prepare young people and communities for the challenges and opportunities of the future. In Northern Ghana, access to quality education remains limited, and many students lack exposure to digital skills, innovation and emerging technologies. 

Through this thematic area, we seek to bridge the digital divide by integrating AI and digital literacy into education systems, particularly for youth, women and underserved communities and the relevance of this in solving real-life challenges. 

YASA Project

The Youth Against Substance Abuse Project is a youth-led prevention movement integrating creative and skills-based interventions using sports and training programs and enhancing the capacity of key individuals (hair makers, barbers, make-up artist, vendors etc.) who interact with the youth on a daily basis to constantly engage and encourage young people to resist pressure or stop abusing drugs that undermines their health, education and futures.

Smart Choices, Strong Living Project

The main objective of this project is to build resilience through health education taking into account the growing concerns of the hike in HIV/AIDS in some Northern Ghana communities. Through school-based campaigns and education programs, there is increasing awareness  to empower adolescents and youth.

Health and Nutrition

Health remains a critical issue in Northern Ghana, where communities face numerous challenges, including inadequate healthcare infrastructure, malnutrition, limited access to essential medical services. 

The social behavior approach allows us to promote changes in Knowledge, attitudes, norms, beliefs and behaviors. This enables us to support communities to make informed decisions about their risks and encourage them to respond effectively to those risks.
